IPoint Frame
Try-On System
Have you ever struggled to pick out your new pair of glasses because you can't see
them? You aren't alone! In fact, between 30% and 50% or more of patients have
difficulty trying on new frames and seeing whether they like them or not once they
remove their prescription glasses. Peninsula Vision Care has a new state-of-the-
art virtual frame try-on and lens demonstration tool so you never have this problem
again!
With the iPoint Kiosk, patients can now select a number of frames they like while
wearing their prescription eyewear. However, rather than squinting in front of a
mirror, the iPoint Kiosk takes a digital image of the patient wearing each frame style
and storing it in the software. The patient then puts their prescription eyewear back
on so they can more clearly view themselves in each of the frame styles they tried
on. Using a very high-resolution digital camera, the patient can see clearly what
they look like in each style.
Once the patient has decided on which frame they like the best, the our staff can
also use the iPoint Kiosk to demonstrate the many lens options that are available.
Most impressive is the fact that the lens options are based specifically on the
patient’s prescription. Some patients with a strong prescription may be unaware
that their new glasses may have very thick lenses and make their eyes appear like
they are “looking through a Coke bottle.” The iPoint Kiosk can demonstrate how
much or how little each type of lens will have that effect on the patient’s
appearance, right on the computer screen. This high technology tool lets the
patients see, for the first time, what their new frame and lenses will look like, before
they are ordered. Not only does it give the patient the basis for making the best
decision for their eyes, but fewer patients are disappointed in the glasses after they
come in because they have already seen what they are getting.
Peninsula Vision Care offers this service free of charge. The Kiosk lets our
patients see again! Stop in for a demo!
